"Many a times in the past, both myself and Netaji (Mulayam) have made this very clear... We are committed to an improved law and order in the state," said by Akhilesh in a press conference held after the SP nominated him as the chief minister.
"Soon honest officers would be appointed and action taken against those who did not perform their duties. Law and order will be priority," Akhilesh said.
"All SP MLAs unanimously supported a resolution nominating me as the chief minister," he added.
"Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) will remain in politics - both in UP and at the Centre. We will move forward with his blessings," said Akhilesh Yadav
