Jodi Breakers

Movie Review

Avijit Ghosh, Times Of India - 2.5 stars
"In times when love is a multi-million industry, even the business of separation can be profitable employment. Lots of divorce lawyers would say that. But Sid is a divorce expert with a difference. He seduces the unfaithful and passes on the evidence. Even pehelwans from Haryana take his help to rid themselves of desperate wives. All this means a fab pay cheque in return. And his professional life only gets better when he hooks up with Sonali ( Bipasha Basu). Together they become top jodi breakers.", wrote by Ghosh on Times Of India.

"Jodi Breakers isn't entirely without merit though. Madhavan is earnest. And Bipasha looks stunning, especially in the scenes shot in Greece. The romantic scenes between the two have a coy intensity. Together they try to make the film better than it actually is. And the track named Bipasha has spunk and rhythm though Kunwara is likely to be the chartbuster. But it simply isn't enough.", he concludes.

Daily Bhaskar.com - 3 stars
Mind-boggling performances, strong storyline and dialogues leave Jodi Breakers in the category of one-time watch films. Editing, cinematography and poor portrayal of second half in terms of direction and screenplay proves fatal for the film.

On the whole, Jodi Breakers falls flat in its intention to showcase a well-knitted plot. Watch out this one only for Maddy and Bips.

Kanika Sikka, DNA - 2 stars
Before beginning this review, I must admit that my love for Milind Somanhas nothing to do with how disappointing this attempted romantic drama was. No he's not the lead actor here, but he could very well be made if looks was the criterion of making a film.

The characters carry an otherwise monotonous plot to make the movie not only tolerable, but seldom enjoyable. The second half is sorely predictable, yet the actors keep it going. Leave all expectations behind before entering the hall and you ‘might’ (urgency redefined) walk out with a smiling face.
