Adelaide ODI: India win thriller vs Australia by 4 wickets

India beat Australia by four wickets in the tri-series one-day international at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Australia made 269-8, led by half-centuries by debutant Peter Forrest (66) and David Hussey (72). In reply, India produced their best ever run chase at the ground to score 270-6 from 49.4 overs.

Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni fired India home against Australia in the fourth ODI of the CB series on Sunday with two balls to spare in a match that offered plenty of twists and turns.

Needing 13 runs in the last over, Ashwin missed the first one from McKay and scored a single in the next to hand over the strike to Dhoni, who saved his best for the last. Under pressure, he pulled the next to a six, picking a length delivery from outside off.

Man of the Match Gautam Gambhir (92) led the way with an assured knock at the top of the order and the finish was provided by the reliable duo of Suresh Raina (38 off 30 balls) and Dhoni (44 not out) as the visitors chased down the record target of 270.
