Google improve WebP to replace JPEG and PNG

Google continuous trying to develop WebP to replace jpeg and png from web. WebP images are faster in loading and it increase the speed of the webpage. Google build this as an alternative to jpeg and png formats. The first version of WebP images used lossy compression. It means user has to compromise with the quality of image. Now, Google introduce new features in WebP. The WebP is now support the 'lossless' compression. It means user gets the file in a smaller size with the same quality. At present only two browsers are support the WebP format. The two browsers are Opera and Google Chrome. So, it is a long time to become a standard.
